What Makes Ethica Different?

Adoption advocacy groups are prolific, and virtually all promise the same thing–education, assistance and advocacy for the furtherance of adoptions. Is Ethica any different? We think so.

Ethica seeks to be an independent voice for ethical adoptions. We are not an adoption agency. We do not place children for adoption, and we don’t have members who do. Most importantly, we do not accept donations from adoption agencies or anyone who places children from adoption. When developing our mission, the board made the decision to disallow donations from agencies so that we can speak to the current issues, advocate for solutions, and provide services that are not motivated by financial self-interest, or the financial interests of our donors.

In addition, Ethica does not adhere to any particular political or religious ideology. Ethica strives to develop organizational policy and recommendations based solely on the basic ethical principles that underscore best practices in adoption and speak to the best interest of children. With this guiding principle, Ethica hopes to prove itself a different kind of adoption advocacy group.
