Florida tops nation in adopting children from foster care

The sunshine state is number one in the nation when it comes to adopting children.
That’s according to Governor Charlie Crist who says Florida has had more than 12,000 adoptions since 2007 – including over 3,000 children adopted within the past year alone.
In 2009, Florida received a federal bonus of nearly ten million dollars for surpassing all other states in the number of children adopted from foster care.
